Carol
Lynn is the recipient of the 2006 ACGMA Award
(Alabama
Country and Gospel Music Association)—Radio Personality of the Year
CAROL LYNN BIO
FOR WQAH 105.7 FM
Carol Lynn was born and raised
in Lawrence County, Alabama. One of 12 children born to Dawson and Lucile
Cottingham, attended Hillsboro Elementary School in Hillsboro, Alabama,
and attended and graduated from Courtland High School in Courtland,
Alabama. Most of my education comes from graduating from the “school
of hard knocks”.
I’ve known since the 7th
grade, when I saw a group of announcers broadcasting from a live remote
on the old WLCB Radio Station in Moulton, that radio is where I wanted
to be.
I started out working weekends
on WJMW-AM Radio in Athens, Alabama, came to WXKI-FM in Moulton, then
on to WFMH in Cullman, and now have come home to Pure Country and Pure
Bluegrass Music on 105.7 FM WQAH Radio.
I love Country Music—George
Jones, Merle Haggard, Faron Young, Hank Williams, Sr., Buck Owens, Charlie
Walker, Gene Watson, Bill Anderson, Little Jimmy Dickens—Well, the
kind of country you hear on 105.7 FM is the kind of country I love.
What little time I am off,
I enjoy going to concerts, walking in the park, sitting on the porch,
riding and looking at the countryside, watching old game shows on television,
and spending time with my family.
My favorite television show
is “The Andy Griffith Show”, my favorite song on radio is all the
ones you hear on my all request drive in—Monday-Friday, 2-6 p.m. My
favorite color is black, my favorite football team is the University
of Alabama! Roll, Tide, Roll! And, my favorite food is anything good,
fried and country like: beans, potatoes, cornbread and sliced tomatoes,
served with good ole blackberry cobbler. My favorite kind of cake and
pie is coconut. My favorite holidays are Thanksgiving and Christmas.
My goal in life is to bring
a smile to everybody’s face and to leave this ole world in a better
shape that in was when I got here, and to work real hard to get to a
better place when I leave this ole world.
Until then, I’ll just say
so long—cause I’m not that good at goodbye.

JT’s Bio
(Middays from 9-12) – WQAH 105.7 FM
I was born February 12, 1973,
in Cullman, Alabama.
I got my first radio job while
I was still in high school. I came in for two hours each weekday morning
and helped write and report the local news for an AM station. At the
time, the best part of the job was getting to miss the first class of
the day at school.
Other jobs I've held include
bagging groceries at a Piggly Wiggly when I was sixteen, customer service
rep for Bellsouth, and a factory job at Wolverine Tube. I also worked
for a couple of other radio stations before coming to Pure Country 105.7
in June of 2002.
In my spare time, I enjoy writing,
running, napping, tennis, and softball. I love spending time at the
beach, and try to get down there at least once a year.
I also enjoy watching sports
on television, especially college football. I was raised to love the
Alabama Crimson Tide, Dallas Cowboys, and Cincinnati Reds.
My favorite TV programs include
24, Seinfeld, The Office, Letterman, and General Hospital. I also enjoy
many of the old shows from the sixties, seventies, and eighties. Three's
Company, Leave It To Beaver, and Cheers, to name a few. And there's
nothing like a good Dukes of Hazzard rerun in the afternoon with ol'
Waylon narrating.
Sun Drop, fried chicken, fat
back, turnip greens, homemade biscuits and gravy, and cherry cobbler.
These are a few of my favorite things.
Some of my favorite country
and bluegrass artists are George Strait, Merle Haggard, Gary Stewart,
Faron Young, Keith Whitley, Johnny Cash, Tom T. Hall, John Schneider,
The Statler Brothers, John Conlee, Tammy Wynette, Eddie Rabbitt, Rhonda
Vincent, Hurricane Creek, and Tim McGraw.
I'd like to thank everyone for listening to 105.7. For coming out to
support our live broadcasts and attending the concerts we've been fortunate
enough to have in the area. You are the reason we're here. Thank you.
That's gonna do it for my part.
I'll see you on the radio.
